1. Lying can be a part of ADHD and sometimes occurs in children with this diagnoses.

2. Lying often occurs when the child doesn’t want to get into trouble. A lot of times, it’s easier to tell a fib than to “fess up” about what they did. Due to their lack of problem-solving skills, they see no other way out, so they choose to lie.

3. You can minimize the need to lie, by eliminating or lessening some punishments that might cause the child to lie to avoid.

I’ve really taken a look at how I can revise the way I act to disobedience. Am I being to harsh? Are the consequences to severe? Am I involving my husband? Have I prayed about it?

When an infringement has happened, if they tell me about it, or if they are honest when asked, I need think before reacting, confer with my husband, and then we need to state the consequences in a calm, matter-of-fact way, eliminating their need to lie in order to stay out of trouble.

4. If you know that your child has already lied, don’t set them up to lie again. Don’t ask them questions you already know the answer to, to see if they will be honest. Don’t set them up to fail twice.

This is something I think we tend to do with our children. “Let’s see if they will be honest this time.” only to be disappointed. Parents can make their kids into liars by always catching them in the lie.

5. Write a contract between you and your child. Define what lying is and what the consequence will be if they lie. Let the child come up with a reasonable consequence for himself. If you can catch your child before there is a chance to lie, remind him of the contract that you agreed upon. This should help to jog their memory and to reduce the need to lie.

6. Lying will tend to decrease as the child grows into maturity. With the proper discipline and guidance, this problem can be solved.

Read to them the book by Aesop’s Fable “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”

Scriptures about lying.
Proverbs 12:19- “Truthful lips endure forever, but a lying tongue lasts only a moment.”

Proverbs 12:22- “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in men who are truthful.”

Proverbs 21:6- “A fortune made by a lying tongue is a fleeting vapor and a deadly snare.”

Leviticus 19:11- “Do not steal. Do not lie. Do not deceive one another.”
Psalm 34:13- “Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies.”

Almost every new parent has experienced the frustration of trying to get a fussy baby to sleep. For some it is an occasional problem for others it is a constant nightmare. You spend hours trying to get your baby to sleep, only to find, a few hours later they are awake and crying. You get them back to sleep, only to face the same thing a few hours later. After a few nights of this, you start to wonder if you will ever get a good night’s sleep again.

Baby sleep problems can have many causes and it’s important that you rule out obvious things like hunger, pain or illness. Assuming it isn’t one of those problems then try to set a series of bedtime rituals to calm your baby and get them ready to sleep.

Over stimulation is a major cause of baby sleep problems. Noise, television, videos, loud music, raised voices are things we all deal with every day. For adults we learn to live with and ignore these things, even though they may cause us stress. For babies everything is new, their ears are more sensitive than ours, and the only way they can handle stress is by crying, or in extreme cases getting sick.

Well before you want your baby to sleep you must reduce stimulation. Turn off the television, keep conversation levels low, close windows if you live on a noisy street and play calming music.

Set consistent rituals for bedtime – music, bath, nursing, rocking etc. It isn’t necessary to do exactly the same thing every time but provide a set of rituals that will make it obvious to your baby that it is time to get ready to sleep and he or she will learn to associate the ritual with sleep. Once they are used to a specific set of bedtime rituals you will find they go to sleep easier and sleep longer.

In every culture and every country music is used to calm fussy babies. Whether playing baby lullabies on a CD or by mothers singing. Even animals vocalize to calm their offspring - a cat’s purr reassures her kittens and lulls them to sleep. Find some calming music, baby lullaby CDs are perfect, but it can be classical music, jazz, new age, or anything that you and your baby enjoy. Turn the volume down low and see your baby sleep problems disappear as baby relaxes and drifts off to sleep.

The Fake TV is a fantastic gadget for peace of mind when away from your home. Whether you are working nights, going away on holiday or are just a security conscious individual, the Fake TV is a reassuring occupancy simulator. If you live alone or feel vulnerable, your personal security will be of utmost importance. No one likes to feel as if their home is at threat. Our personal possessions could seem priceless to us, but are a money maker for a burglar.
http://www.find-me-a-gift.co.uk/fake-tv-burglar-deterrent-device.html
Fake TV reproduces the light output of a 27” HDTV including flickers, fades and motion! Working from a timer, this amazing gadget will come on at dusk and turn off after 4 or 7 hours, creating the illusion that someone is in a room watching TV.
Burglars are less inclined to try and break into a house that is seemingly occupied and will go for an easier target. Don’t let your house be that target! The Fake TV also uses 50 times less power than a real television set, making it economical and environmentally friendly.
http://www.find-me-a-gift.co.uk/fake-tv-burglar-deterrent-device.html
Working off of an AC Adapter, just plug in the Fake TV so it is facing a window (but not seen from the outside) and select either 4 or 7 hours on the timer. A light sensor will turn the Fake TV on when it gets dark and you will feel safe in the knowledge that you are taking an extra precaution to keep your home safe. The bright LED lights change colour subtly or dramatically and never repeats a sequence. This gives a highly realistic television glow.
So you have a burglar alarm and your lights are on a timer. That is a fantastic start, but your home will still look static and unlived in. Burglars are getting less deterred by lights now as so many of us put them on a timer for security. Fake TV makes your home seem ‘alive’ and will act as an extra measure in protecting your house. About the size of a coffee mug, the Fake TV really does prove that good things come in small packages.
The Fake TV is the ultimate Burglar Deterrent Device, its a dynamic and convincing occupancy simulation leading burglars to think there is someone home so they move onto an easier target
The Fake TV is computer controlled, super-bright multi-colour LED light output equivalent to a typical 27 inch TV
Fake Television consumes a tiny amount of power, less than a standard lamp
AC mains adapter included
Most televisions turn on with push buttons and do not work with timers. Burglars know this, which makes FakeTV perfect!
A built in light sensor turns FakeTV on each evening at dusk for 4 or 7 hours. Fake TV turns off automatically.
A light on a timer is a great idea, and we still recommend that you use one. It can be seen from the street, and gives a good first impression. But timers are commonplace, and burglars know this, so a timer is not enough. Worse, lights are static. But the light from a television is something entirely different. It is constantly changing, and gives the impression of “Alive”. FakeTV recreates that light, and recreates that impression. So why not just put a television on a timer? It will not work! Modern televisions turn on with push-buttons, so they will not turn on from an external timer. So why not just leave a television on whenever you are away? Well, aside from consuming a lot of power needlessly, televisions get gradually dimmer with time. Does it make sense to use up the life of an expensive TV when nobody is watching it? The solution is the FakeTV! Even if you have a burglar alarm this is a cheap addition to further reduce the risk of being broken into especially when you go away for the weekend or on holiday, this could be the best £29.99 you have ever spent!
